Rotary LSW Votes to Dissolve

At their meeting of June 4, 2009, the Rotary Club of Logan-Swedesboro –Woolwich made the difficult decision to dissolve, due to declining membership and low attendance. Dissolution will be effective June 30, 2009. Club members want to thank the many people in the community who supported our efforts over the past three years.

It is important to note at this time of dissolution, the many successes of our Club. The Rotary Club of Logan-Swedesboro-Woolwich distributed over 1000 dictionaries to 3rd graders in Logan and Swedesboro-Woolwich schools; we hosted 2 essay contests for 4th graders; we partnered with Logan Township to receive an $8000 grant from the American Academy of Dermatology and built 3 shade structures at Township Line Park in Logan Township; we assisted the Greater Swedesboro Business Association with fund raising efforts for a clock tower to be erected in downtown Swedesboro; we participated in the past 3 Logan days and Swedesboro-Woolwich days; we helped with the United Way kick-off and the Chilli Cook-Off; we hosted 3 dinners for the District GSE team; supported other District events and contributed to The Foundation. This year we also had a wonderful family literacy program at the Swedesboro Head Start; we were a sponsor for Matthew’s Miles and the Kingsway Dragon Run; we assisted with a local holiday food drive; and we sponsored a Kingsway student for the District RYLA conference.

Along the way we had lots of fun, met many interesting people from our community, and learned much from all the wonderful speakers who visited our Club.
